Actually, no. Try closer to ~$8K+ for those features. If I had the money, I'd go for the adjustable base as I tried one in the store and really liked it. The dual heated/cooled (each side separate) “upgrade" is a really cool feature and can help with the "she's colder, I'm hotter" kind of conversations but be prepared to pay through the nose.
Currently the most expensive king mattress that is not memory foam or temperature balancing (p6) is ~3600.00 with a base/legs and sleep IQ which is admittedly close to 4000.00. I still don’t think I want all that foam... and you don’t really need the legs if you have a bed frame, depending on what you have now might not even need the base.
My point is that the beds are not that expensive unless you go for options... even in my example the base and SleepIQ take a 2800.00 bed to 3600.00.
I too have one of those ~$8,000.00 quotes for a split adjustable base, i10 and everything else under the sun... Though I agree it would be really cool, I sleep pretty well without it.
I think a lot of people walk into the store looking for a mattress and walk out with a complete turn key bed with a ton of options.
I’m into mine for less than $1300.00 and I sleep well and my back and neck don’t hurt anymore so I’m happy
I’m also not saying anything against anyone who does buy the options, just understand what you are getting (like anything else) and know that “SleepNumber” does not have to equal “$5000.00”.
I will also add that when I ordered mine they were in the middle of a software change (they had a notice on their website that it might create problems. That was an understatement the ordering/ process was a nightmare and poorly explained (for instance that the base would come well before the mattress”. Everyone I spoke to was genuinely helpful and very good customer service (particularly considering they were probably getting yelled at all day). But it was still very frustrating to the point I almost cancelled the order. In the end it worked out and I’m glad I didn’t cancel. I assume they have that ironed out by now.
