I am rebuilding an old home made log splitter I bought on craigslist.
I have a new 13gpm pump, and a 10 gallon reservoir.
Looking for hydraulic oil (aw 46 is recommended by pump manufacturer), I have found Sinopec aw-46 available to order from Walmart online for $33.50 per 5 gallon pail and free shipping.
A little reasearch, and I found Sinopec is a large Chinese refiner. Wondering what some expert opinions are of this oil.
Seems it would be fine for log splitter use.

It should be OK, can't be any worse than the generic 303 oil I use in my old log splitter. I may try some of that Sinopec oil myself once my current supply is gone, that's a decent price, roughly the same as the TSC Traveller AW46 I've used in the past ($32.99).

Supertech is $22 for 2 gallons. ($11 per gallon)
Sinopec is $33 for 5 gallons. ($6.6 per gallon)
If the Sinopec is decent fluid it as almost half the cost!
