Can you find this in writing? What SAE specification? Not so much challenging you - I'd love to read it.
I understand what you are saying - and I'll accept it on face value temporarily while you find the spec, but why would adding a pour point agent, i.e. a solvent (think very thin oil) to a heavy base oil make it into a non-Newtonian liquid.

I think my main problem is my wide definition of VII. Technically maybe pour point depressants aren't VII's.
