Simple O2 Sensor replacement based on these codes?

That Google search answer is not very good. It is inaccurate. Only partial truths.

Cold and low RPM problems point to vacuum leaks as my first guess. Any rubber or plastic lines and their ends have to be perfect. The PCV system has to be traced and checked as well. Intake leaks are next.
Check these by actually looking and tracing each line and connection - no leaks or cracks.
But a bad throttle position sensor, of MAF sensor could be the problem - also a fuel pressure regulator [along with a dozen others].

OK,

Cleared the codes about a week and a half ago and none of the originally observed codes have returned. No DTC's stored.

Drivability problems however still persist.

Does this still sound like an O2 sensor issue? Is there still troubleshooting value in disconnecting the O2 sensor and test-driving in these circumstances?

PS. How do I reset the TPS to ensure it is in the correct position?

Jim here's a good corolla forum and there's someone in there having the same code problem right now too. http://www.corolland.com/forums/index.php?showforum=74

Its time to change the o2's anyway so I'd do it, and I'd consider changing the plugs also because theyre not 120k plugs theyre 100k on the 01's. You can pull the ecu fuse for a minute and that will reset it, then turn the car on and cycle thru each gear while braked then the car will be ready to drive ok to see if the new o2's solved the problem.

These 01's have converter issues as well so if new o2's doesnt solve the problem then it may be time to consider a new converter, aftermarkets cost around $300.
