I think many of recognize that sil-glyde is a great product for use on caliper sliding pins. Has anyone used it anywhere else on their brakes? Back of pads? Pad dog ears? Other areas? How did it work out?

I've only use Sil-glyde on the caliper pins and I use Permatex Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant (the purple stuff) on the back of the pads. It is the only thing that quiets down my Subaru's pads. I had tried other things based off of forum suggestions, Sil-glyde, anti-seize, regular grease, nothing, etc. none of them worked for the long term. Sil-Glyde worked for a few weeks but washed out after a really bad storm. The Permatex stuff keeps going.

I've used sil glued on rubber seals. However I don't anymore.
I like Honda's shin etsu grease better for seals, and 3M (or jet lube) pure silicone paste for brake parts.
Silaramic is the best stuff I've found for other brake components.

Take some Sil glyde in your hand and run it under the sink. It will absorb water.
For exposed metal to metal brake parts, use something like high solids M 77 or Paste Lube. I use the Paste Lube on rotor hats, hubs, gate hinges, etc.. It is water proof and stays put, resulting in no rust in our salt bath winters.

When I changed out the pads/rotors on my Rav4, I used Sil-glyde on the pins and despite the instructions to the contrary, put a little on the back of the Wagner Thermo-quiet pads. Holy [censored], did they squeak. Pulled the pad and coated the backs and dog ears with Sil-glyde. That quieted things down.

Plenty of people have reported issues with the thermo quiet and squeaking under many circumstances, they sometimes squeak no matter what you do, probably because of the non oem style backing plate/shim
