I am definitely not doing that at someone’s house lol.I would talk to some friends at school and do this service at their parent’s place. Do it behind their back, it’s not like you’re doing drugs or something like that.
Forbidding your child from taking matters into their own hands, learning something new and saving money in the process. The world never ceases to amaze.
For sureChanging the trans fluid will have a better outcome than not changing it for what that is worth.
Probably because if something goes wrong, it will cost more $$ and the OP is not equipped to handle it.I would talk to some friends at school and do this service at their parent’s place. Do it behind their back, it’s not like you’re doing drugs or something like that.

Yeah, good pointProbably because if something goes wrong, it will cost more $$ and the OP is not equipped to handle it.
As usual, it depends on what you can afford to lose.If you don’t f-around you will never find out. If the kid has an inclination, let him find out instead of squashing it IMO. The world is already full of know nothings that are afraid of getting their hands dirty.
Well yes, if this was my kid I would make it crystal clear that if he messes this up it will be bus riding for him until he manages to fix it.As usual, it depends on what you can afford to lose.
In situations like these, DIY may only be viable if you have experienced help with you.

Maybe you should let someone do it…What fluid should I use? Maxlife?? I would like something in a gallon container, as the quart bottles easily fall over.
Why would you say that?Maybe you should let someone do it…
What does ZF say to use? Of course, ZF will say to use its proprietary fluid that costs a kazilloon euro per liter. I'm sure that there ar several compatible fluid that cost less. Try FCPEuro for a kit.Well, looks like I will be doing this DIY in 2 weeks. After looking at how expensive it is and how I will be saving about 700 dollars, as my indy now wants around 850-900, they are okay with me doing it. I showed them a video of it, and they agree that it is not too hard.

DIY or shop?Ok everyone transmission has been serviced. Seems to be shifting much better
I did DIY. I did 3 drain and fills with last one doing the filter. Wasn’t hard tbh just messy and annoying because my hands were always slippery. Here are some picsDIY or shop?
Glad it solved the shifting.
