Well folks, I have go-karted my MK3 Cobra twice now and the boss has spoken. She said the side pipes on the MK3 are too loud. She has not ridden in the car, but she has expressed her concern waiting for me to return in the driveway. They are the stock FFR raw steel pipes with GasN performance headers. The engine is a 427SBF with 507HP, so it barks and has plenty of thump.

I am open to cutting the turn out off and adding some sort of silencer. I have looked at a couple of different options for inserts from Patriot muffler and Car Chemistry and also Classic Chambered exhaust. I have the necessary tools to cut and reweld the pipes back together, so that is not a concern. I also intend to paint them high temp black when done.

I posted this same question on the FFR forum but have had limited responses. On top of this I have reached out to Ken at Car Chemistry, and he has suggested the 4 disk insert (link here). I'm just wondering if this community has had any success with making side pipes a little less harsh. I think these inserts will work and probably drop the sound by 7-10dB's. I am not worried about a small amount of performance loss since the car has plenty to give up. The car will be roughly 2300lbs when completed.

Thanks in advance for the feedback and suggestions!
