Side marker (?) light

I guess I should have posted this here in the first place:

A light is out on my '03 Buick Park Avenue. (Now I know it doesn't have an "exterior light out" warning light!) It's the rectangular red marker light on the side of the rear bumper -- not within the taillight assembly.

1) The owner's manual doesn't mention a "side marker" light, though it says the "tail/turn" lights take a 194 bulb. The 194 bulbs at the parts store are labeled as a side marker light, and are little LED or krypton bulbs not much bigger than a Rice Krispie. Is this right?

2) I've been getting home after dark this week, so all I've been able to do is peer under the car. The bulb appears to be reachable from the inner side of the bumper, and I see wires going into a plug. It doesn't look like you'd turn it to get it out. Is it necessary to remove the plate that appears slotted into the bumper to get to the plug and bulb?

I think if you can actually see the wires and the rear of the plug...reach up and give it a twist, should come out to the rear.

Quick update: Yes, the plug came out, turned counterclockwise. And the 194 bulb (Krypton for "long life," from O'Reilly's -- we'll see how long they last!) was the right one.

One tip: Before you slide under, put on sunglasses or goggles. There's a lot of dirt around that plug and the opening, and some of it will fall right into your eyes if you're not careful!
