I have a Generac generator on my motorhome (5500 watt). I have Redline 10w30 oil in it. Oil has been in it 20 months for a total of 37 hours of operation. Should I change it? Oil looks clean on a blotter card.

Does this engine have a filter? I would change at the 2 year mark or before storage for following season. It can't hold much, maybe a quart or less?

Your are concerned about it. It is close to two years even if the hours are low. I would change it and eliminate any concerns.

The oil is fine keep it in,,i would run it once every few weeks to burn any moister out that may be in there tho. The oil's fine.

Yes it has a Wix filter, small, maybe 2.5 inch long by 2.25 wide, but plenty for that small engine. Holds 1.5 qts, but seems on a change it only took 1.25 qts. Well, I was figuring to change it by the 2 yr mark so guess I'll wait. 37 hrs is not much, manual says change at 50 hr and that for typical oil, not Redline. Next fill is Amsoil 10w30 PAO. Prob should add a bit of zddp boost as I think the gen calls for something like SG rating and the Amsoil is probably SL (bought it about 2 yrs ago). Thanks.

I have Amsoil's ACD in mine just over a year on it with 16 Hrs(new unit)no plans on changing it any time soon, waist of good oil i do run it every few weeks like i said.

My Amsoil says ATM, which I understand to be PAO. I have 3 quarts ($6 each on clearance at Murrays a couple years ago), enough for two changes, so looks like I am set for the next 4 years.
