Short term lease

We've read about lease swapping or taking over a lease towards the end of the term.

There's Turo, where you can rent by the day.

Wondering if anyone is aware of a company or service where you can enter into a 3 month lease? We may have a use for a short term lease of this nature.

Thanks for any info...

Companies such as sixt.com offer 3-month rentals, but it could range anywhere from $5k-$11K depending on the class of vehicle. Another option might be to go to a used car dealer with a large inventory and see if they would be willing to rent you a car from their inventory for 90 days, but it may still cost a few grand depending on the vehicle and rental terms.

You might be better of just buying an inexpensive used car, drive it for 3 months, and then sell it.

Contact your local enterprise branch, they do monthly rentals. I worked Enterprise in college, there was some 45 year old dude whose dad rented him a full size truck for like 3 years straight. He’d **** one up, return it, and dad would just pay for the damage on his Amex and he’d get a new one. 12+ years later I’m still wondering why the guy just didn’t buy his failure of a son a car. Before anyone jumps on me, the guy was mentally and able bodied to work just a screwup. His dad was nice though 😂

Thanks all, went with a Turo.

Bummer I missed the Enterprise...

So just curious if you want to answer, what did you get, how much and how long?
Got a Nissan Rogue AWD, $28/day for 30+ days. It was more, around $35-40/day for less than 30 days. Next least expensive around us was $34/day.

After having it a few days, it's a hard "NO!" on ever owning one.

Is it a 2021? I had one as a rental and I didn't think it was bad...I typically do not like Nissans but it kinda won me over. Not a fan of paddle shifters in a CVT vehicle though

It's a 2020 with 19k miles.

Hate the cvt, it cannot decide between being a cvt or normal trans with gears and often does something between the two, alternately rubber banding and revving to 4 grand. SOMEtimes at very light throttle it will act as a cvt should - but not reliably. Even using the paddle shifters it slushes its way to the next gear, completely unlike Subaru or even Chevy cvts that crisply go to the next ratio.

Needs a brake job, front rotors are warped. Rear brakes making scraping noise that comes and goes.

Hate that the doors lock and you have to manually UNlock to exit the vehicle following shut off. Unsafe in an emergency and yes I've looked up and adjusted the settings.

"Not bad" and "inexpensive" works for the car rental companies; but not for me, especially with Nissan's record of cvt failures (excepting one of our members with over 200k miles on one....but bitog level maintenance is not the norm)
