If someone paid me 100 bucks to sit in front of a TV and play video games, I'd turn it down and go fly fishing.

It's simply amazing how you can take a thread about a playstation and turn it into a rant against Windows Vista.

Yea. Microsoft has been making the best, least troublesome operating systems in existence for computers. The most secure too. What's up with the Microsoft bashing??? It's so unwarranted.
LOL! My point was that Microsoft can't make this sort of ground-swell/frenzy for it's products anymore. Zune is nice, but nothing more or less than anything else out there now. Vista, well, we won't be seeing any $3800 copies of it for sale on eBay.

The 360 is as powerful as the PS3, only it lacks a BlueRay DVD player. It's also cheaper. Real world performance is what counts and Sony's Cell processor architecture is cumbersome to program for. I read a couple of articles from programmers stating that you'll have to sweat blood to extract the power out of the PS3 and that the 360's layout is better and easier to program for. I think Sony intentionally hypes up the demand by trickling out x amount over a several week period. The press only helps sony bc it's giving them more attention and creating more of the "I have to have it now!" mentality among kids.

microsoft makes $75 on every console, sony now loses $300 - due solely because of the blu-ray drive they are forcing on people.
paramount and disney cited the PS3 as the reason they backed blu-ray, because it would put blu-ray in millions of homes - bad decision there!
with almost zero launch titles, a $600 price tag and the looks of a naked bette midler - the sony PS3 is a bust.
you have to either be an apple tool, or an uniformed person speaking from lack of knowledge to connect a console with an mp3 player - or operating system for that matter... so because toyota makes an ugly scion, their truck sales will go down?
people want them to resell them on ebay, I have yet to find anyone who is actually keeping it....try searching the net, 99% of these things are going on craigslist or ebay.
the 360 has been out, has mass support, massive developer backing, and a huge amount of industry support as a whole - M$ has won the console war, sony is 2 years too late with this gen of console, it's ugly, it's priced too high, and the way they bash other companies (nintendo) speaks volumes about how they conduct business.

Geeze, these "straw man" threads as of late are pretty entertaining. I'm wathcing some of these Ebay auctions and they're ending around ~$1200 w/a game...not exactly the $2500 the media has been hyping.

you people forget that the ps3 is probably mostly by adults and used by adults. it isnt just a kids game console. heck most of the games are rated for adult use only.
i have a ps2. i bought it for $50 used and it came with a few games a few years ago.
in about 6 months, or when the ps3 price comes down, ill probably end up buying a used one for a hundred or so.
