While blindness from shingles is rare, more or less permanent vision loss is not uncommon. Shingles can scar the cornea and cause retinal edema that can damage the retina permanently. I have in my lifetime gotten some funky vaccines. Other than mild brain damage I came out okay, says my dad. I will certainly get the shingles vaccine in my 50s.Thats what I was afraid of getting it on my face and damaging my eye.
3 months from now I will get the second shot.
I hadnt heard that.
However the CDC or whoever? guidelines say vaccine only after 50yrs old.

I have had both shingles and covid. Shingles was the worst. Wish I had gotten the shot earlier.
5 minutes today at CVS (with online appointment) and we got the Shingrix vaccine.
I will do anything to avoid the nasty shingles blisters and pain.
