Could using an additive like MMO, Amsoil PI, Lucas UCL etc. inhibit the cleaning ability of V-Power premium? They claim it will by itself clean your fuel system, but if you regularly use an additive, could it reduce the cleaning or stop it altogether, or possible enhance it?

We use Shell most of the time.

Use Lucas UCL at the rate of about 2 to 2.5 oz per 10 gallons. Used in in both vehicles each time we buy fuel + used it in the last 2 vehicles we owned with good results.

I don't think V-Power will clean much of anything. Any of those cleaners will likely do a better job cleaning with any regular fuel than V-Power will do.

less additive is better... won't hurt a thing. Each additive cleans up stuff, but leaves its own residues.

I think Shell is advertising regular shell will keep things clean but Premuim Shell will actually remove deposits already there. If that is true, using premium once in a while for a clean up would be cheaper than buying fuel system cleaner and adding.

I think UCL is more of a fuel system lubricant than cleaner... it doesn't seem to clean all that well and smells like corn oil

I think it would add a bit, and not inhibit the Shell's cleaning.
I've been using V Power with very good gas mileage lately. When it first came out, my car didn't like it at all.
Maybe I have a station that adds no alcohol?
