Shell V-Power?

What are your thoughts on Shell V-Power? There are only a few gas stations in my area that offer 93 octane fuel. Marathon, Shell, and Sunoco are the only three I know of.

What are your thoughts on the V-Power and which one would you choose of the three?
 
V-Power (93 Octane) might be good....but not needed in 98% of vehicles...It might even harm engines that don't need it.

All of the Shell grades of gas have the Nitrogen blended cleaning system. I think the 87 has twice as much and the V-Power has 5X as much as other gasolines. My truck only calls for 87 but once in a while I run it low and fill up on V-Power and run it all the way down to about a quarter tank left and then re-fill with 87. The V-Power really cleans the fuel system out and the truck idles like a Swiss watch after the V-Power run. Sunoco would be my second choice. Never had any problem with it.

The car in question is a 97 Camaro Z28. Its an LT1 and the factory manual says 91++ because of the compression ratio.

I'm getting slighly better fuel mileage with the V-Power vs the Sunoco. I've quit using Marathon.
 
V-Power is perfect for you. Not only are you getting better mileage but you're also cleaning your valves, combustion chambers and piston domes.
 
The V Power is GREAT stuff, and all else being equal (source of crude) would be my first and only choice.

But, IF you are concerned at all about the above in parenthesis, Sunoco would be my choice, as I've heard (on here as a matter of fact) that they source most, if not all, of their crude oil from U.S./North American locations.

But then again, I do not know how reliable that info is, and how it could even be confirmed, or refuted.

Shell and Sunoco/Petro Canada do source a lot of their crude from NA. I am also told from an employee for Shell has a purer concentration of fuel..w/e that means.
 
I haven't checked this out in any kind of accurate way (not a controlled study or anything) but I believe I get better mileage in my Civic using V-Power.
 
I never got anything "better" from using V-power in my i30 that recommends using 91+ octane gasoline, and I have tried it from different stations in different states at different times of the year.

I'm sure it is good, but to me it isn't worth 50c more per gallon than the 87 (regular) when some other stations sell premium for 20c more per gallon than 87 and give me the same performance.
 
wifey's camry 2AZFE seems to like Vpower regular (87octane) better than Chevron 87 esp. during low RPM (
Yeah, Vpower is becoming harder to get here also...mainly has to do with razor-thin profit margin, which leads to many gasoline retailing station closure.

Good quality gasoline but in my area it's priced too high for my pocket book!!!!!

Regular-$3.70/gallon

Midgrade-$3.79glaaon

Supreme- $3.90/gallon

Durango

With those prics would you buy this brand????

You are using premium from other stations I assume as gas mileage and power will suffer if you use anything less than the 91 recommended octane.

That's due to the Shell having no ethanol in it, compared to Sunoco having 10%. At least that is the case up here in Ontario with those two fuels. When I run Sunoco I can only average around 19 MPG in my daily commute but with Shell I get 21. Plus up here Sunoco charges 3 cents more per liter for their premium compared to Shell! (although the Shell up here is only 91 octane while our Sunocos still sell 94)
 
Around where I live, Shell pumps all have the ethanol content sticker. Unlike in Canada, though, they don't say how much ethanol is in each grade...
