Wonder what everyone thinks about Rotella T6, Synthetic 10w30? I have wanted this oil for a few years and could never find it on the shelf, except once in an Autozone for $32 a gallon and didn't purchase. With the recent Sam's Club deal, I snagged 12 gallons for a smoking deal.

I am wondering if this oil is a real sleeper, secretively exceptional.

Thoughts?

I plan to pour it in to the following of my rigs: Ford Godzilla, Jeep 2.5l 4-banger, FJ Cruiser 4.0L, Mercedes 2.1L Diesel, Ram EcoDiesel.... Yeah... this oil can cover my whole fleet. I can even pour it into my Honda Africa Twin DTC motor scooter. It can also go in my Honda Lawn Mower and my Mini Excavator and my Mahindra tractor and my three gensets.

Cold temps are really not an issue, as all my vehicles are either in the garage or barn in the deep of winter. Nothing will have a cold start lower than 40 degrees, even when it is negative 20 outside.

Hark... I may have found the perfect, single oil that could fill every combustion engine I own.

It's fine oil, but secretly exceptional? I am all for smoking hot deals, but I haven't seen anything to make me think that it's the bee's knees of motor oil or anything.

Who knows the real numbers on the this oil? It has a TBN of 10.1 and must have at least a HTHS higher than 3.5.

Okay well maybe not a -30 grade with a 10W winter rating. But I wouldn’t be married to either that grade nor a particular winter rating. Perhaps that’s just me.

-48C is -54F for a pour point. Who in the lower 48 ever deals with that or worse? Lowest I have ever experienced is -28F.

I never understood the whole running rotella in a gas engine myself, Does one think they know more about oil by the spec sheet than the oil companies do?

All of which is fine but it doesn’t directly correlate to cranking and pumpability. If it did then it would qualify for, and be labeled with a better winter rating. It’s a 10W rated oil all day long.
