Yep it is a GIII but it works great in spite of it! It is got to be the only GIII product I go out of my way to get people to try since I am a PAO/Ester Nazi!!!!LOL
Hi,
Shell's excellent XHVI Base Fluid has been marketed for around a decade and a half
The results from all of Shell's synthetic lubricants using this Base Fluid have always been first rate in my experience
Many Group 3 "synthetic" lubricants are performing at least as well as many of the older "real" synthetic lubricants. Generally their price is a great selling point
ExxonMobil are now tapping into this market segment with many non M1 branded alternatives. These lubricants ahve always been top performers too!

Lots of motorcycle riders use it because it's such a strong oil...
At least the CI-4+ iteration. I'm wondering about the new CJ-4 stuff that's supposed to be showing up.
I stocked up on all the CI-4+ I could find, but, eventually it'll run out.
Hopefully, by then we'll have enough data to confirm that the new RTS works just as well. Hopefully. acing:
I'm currently using Rotella T Synthetic 5w40 in my wife's Mercedes, which calls for a 5w40 MB229.5 rated oil (which Rotella ISN'T). The Benz seems perfectly happy with the Rotella. But then again, I could probably run 0w20 in the Mercedes, and not be able to tell any "seat-of-the-pants" difference...
