Shell 5/40 rts in snowblower

I have just over a quart of Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5w40 on the shelf and in April I will be changing the oil in my snowblower for next year do you think it's ok to use? The snowblower is garaged and the coldest it gets is around 18 deg F. The motor is a 20 year old 11 hp B&S flathead.

Yes that oil will be fine i use the same stuff in my old 5hp TORO, pulls over easy in the cold,no issues.

will be fine although I doubt you need more than a 5w30 in the winter with an air cooled engine.

It should work well. I currently have that same oil in my 1978 Toro 826 which has a Briggs 8hp flathead.
