Just replaced the supercharger coupler, the serpentine and supercharger belts and four pulleys. The battery was removed and the alternator dismounted for easier access.

The operation went well. Upon testing, I have a service engine soon light and when plugging into the data port, I have a connection error. I have taken it to Advance Auto and their scanner can not make a connection either. The vehicle runs great. Heads up display works along with the instrument display center. No abnormal readings. Cigarette lighter circuit is working. There are no blown fuses in the UHJB or in the fuse panel in the passenger side foot well. No fuses blown in the panel under the rear seat. All ground points near the battery are solid.

Tough one to figure. Anyone experienced this or having suggestions to repair? I do not know the actual circuit the data port gets its power from. I have the owner's manual and fuse panel covers with fuse assignments but none defining power for the data port.

If you grab a voltmeter or test light and find battery voltage at the DLC you don't have to do any more checking of fuses.

Also check for B- at the DLC too.



O/P, since you were in that area on the 3.8, check to make sure you didn't remove/damage the ground wire(s) that attach to the stud under the ignition control module. Sometimes it's a wire, sometimes it's a cluster of grounds. It or they're attached to a 3/8" ring terminal.
 
I have a solid connection of the white stripe on black wire connecting under the ignition control module. I did not loosen any of this assembly on the original repair other than changing the pulley nearby.

I do have power at the port. My scantool software is giving me an error 109 and failing to connect on com 3.

I can cut and paste GM service info ANYWHERE but on this site! It used to take but now garbles up for some reason.

Usually I will spend 10 minutes editing it to be readable..but I post a LOT of help on here for people and it's get tiring to edit. That's why I will post and offer it emailed to a BITOG'er and have done such for atleast 30 of us.
 
Follow-up:

After chasing connections, a ScanGauge II connected and gave me a P0341/ camshaft position sensor and it was cleared. Checked the sensor wiring and routing. My original belt and pulley work was nearby.

So for now, problem solved.
