cough cough POS cough sorry I'm allergic to all these terrible "filters" out there... that ac Delco looks even worse

LOL, you don't know what you're talking about. You've obviously never opened an e-core. It's a "felt" like material. Furthest thing from cardboard, and nothing like the end cap used by FRAM. FRAM also uses a much better bonding glue. I dare you to tear off the end cap on a orange can and see how easy it is. The e-cores have always been a bad design, the lack of glue is just one reason.
 
Felt, cardboard, fiberboard, all the same thing.

My filters have metal endcaps, the way God intended.

There's your problem, you have blind faith in metal end caps and deities.

I have seen several Purolator made filters here (as well as my own) who's metal end caps fall off once dissected.

That's because they are Purolator lol ur comparing apples to oranges I personally use baldwin not the best filtration but they are bomb proof when it comes to construction
