IIRC, Maxlife 10W40.

Ok Brian, I think you'll appreciate this, I'm trying to figure out what oil saab originally used in our cars. According to the manual it was 5w30 semi-synthetic and saab also requires a A3/B3 spec oil. Everything listed is a 40 weight. What the heck came is these cars?

DuraBlend 10w-40 carried A3 for a while. Delo 15w40 did as well. I think any name-brand semi 10w-40 would do the job. I'd look at Mobil Clean, Clean HM, Motorcraft, Syntec Blend, GTX HM, MaxLife, DuraBlend etc.

Nope, that's the thinking that led to tons of sludged saab short blocks-well, along with a few other factors....Granted I'm not using an A3 oil right no either but I've got Tection Extra 15W40 spiked with SLOB which I don't intend to let go much over 3k.

A few saab junkies have been using oilmedic.com to compile a database of 9-5 UOA's. May be time to check in on them.
