It's the coolest rider I've seen in ten years of working with this kinda stuff.
My description from craigs list.
This is a 1990 Yamaha YT3600 lawn tractor
specs. 38 inch two blade heavy deck, driveshaft driven hydro,electronic pto clutch and headlights, origonal Dunlop tires w/ like new tread, single cylinder ohv with a roller bearing crankshaft made by Yamaha. , Engine and exhaust are mounted together, and then mounted on the frame with 4 rubber mounts. Very smooth and quiet.
This tractor was made in Japan, and is of extreame high quality. "over built" if you will.
I would rate this tractor at 91%, almost perfect. Every feature works like new. No detectable wear in the stearing or deck parts. All pulley bearings are silent like new. No oil leaks. Like new deck belt.Very low hrs(>100) very clean.
We moved to a condo and have no need.
Not your piece of junk MTD, Polan, Craftsman, Ayp, or anything else that has ever been sold out of a Home Depot, Loews or Sears.
Dare I say it's better than any John Deere finishing cut mower ever built.

I recently sold a snapper rider. I just parked it out in front of my yard with a for sale sign on it. Got a lot of calls and a lot of tire kickers. It sit for a few weeks and finally a guy came by and said that was exactly what he was looking for. He tested it out and we negotiated a bit and he bought it. I live where there is quite a bit of traffic so that helped.
You can sell them and you might try craigs list to get more exposure.

This is an informative description. Problem with it is 95 percent of the people looking for a rider have no clue what you are describing. They are looking for keywords such as "cup holder", "electric start", "bagger", and "horsepower".
Also, it’s never a good idea to bash the other guys brands when selling items. The people looking at your item may in fact own the products you are bashing or shop at the stores being bashed. This may offend or insult the prospective buyer before you have even met him. And last but not least, spell check is beneficial when placing an ad.
I just sold my 7 year old Craftsman 2 stage snow blower on CL. Worked out well for me. Good luck

Funny, I did edit out the part about the junky box store mowers on the craigslist ad last night. My initial intentions were to make a very clear point that while this mower is older, it has nothing in common with those low end units. Maybe I'm a little new school about something like bashing the competition. With quality all but out the window these days most businesses use smoke and mirrors to "prop up" there line up. I may be a little young to be so cynical, but I have found that in cultivating relationships, honesty is the best approach. As a service manager I have to be good at gently telling people what they don't want to here on a regular basis, while at the same time keeping the door open to a future with them. You are right about the 95% not understanding some of the description, but I realize that it's going to take a person with a hefty dose of rational and understanding to justify paying a thousand for a 20year old mower. As for the spell check, I have no excuse. I should have done that.
For anyone that's interested, it does have a cup holder, is a 14hp, and it has a bagging system that's missing the shoot.

I'm right there with you about despising low end equipment. My negativity doesn't come from the service side though. Being a naive new homeowner 10+ years ago and believing that Craftsman was "just as good" as the high end equipment is what got me there. Now, 10 + years later I am cycling out all of my worn out [censored] equipment and buying better OPE. Despite having taken excellent care of them, they just didn't hold up.
Sometimes the words honesty and sales don't go together. I am more honest than most when I sell items on CL, which has cost me a couple sales, but there are those buyers that appreciate the honesty. I like to tell buyers about any repairs or issues with the stuff I sell, instead of blowing smoke.

That Yamaha is a nice unit, but it's going to require a "special buyer". At $1K, most will go down to the box store and buy new - with new 2-3 year warranty.
