See thru A-pillars

I've been driving 30 and the A-pillars have never caused an issue. What "problem" is this solving?

Slightly changing the subject, but still regarding vehicle visibility: I learned something from my mother when I bought her 2001 Chevy Impala. She told me that she liked the thing on the back of the car for helping her judge where the back of the car was while parking. And to think all the time before that I though it was for generating down force when going fast.
It’s a Spoiler Alert 😷

Once thin, flexible LCD screens become cost effective, you'll have the A-pillar trim wrapped as an LCD screen, displaying an image from an exterior camera. It'll making a seamless composite image across the windshield, the video screen A-pillar, and the side window. No more blind spot.
This is the solution, great idea.

Good luck getting a glass pillar like below replaced, we can't even get carbon fiber done right in some cases. Years ago I wrote for a replacement of a carbon fiber hinge pillar on a BMW i3. The procedure was so complex and there were so many things that could go wrong that the (highly qualified and fully equipped BMW certified) shop begged me to total the vehicle. It totaled after they took the vehicle apart and more damage occurred as they tried to peel the layers on the inner and outer carbon fiber panels apart.

Volvo had an idea for this years ago but it was on a concept car:
