Sedans or Coupes

One of the reasons why hatchbacks enjoy relatively less success here is likely because elsewhere in the family fleet there is access to something bigger. Between my full-size pickup and Suburban, not to mention a dual-axle flatbed trailer, I simply don't need to worry about not being able to bring home the stuff.

Having said that, I like hatchbacks and would easily choose a VW GTI over a Jetta GLI, for example.

For a lot of years in this market, hatchbacks were cars that had a lot of NVH issues. I think the situation is much better now, but it takes time to change the mindset.

I miss my 77 Caprice Classic 2 door. It was a b!tch getting out of in tight parking spaces though.

Noise? I'll concede that...I don't think having the cargo area essentially open to the interior of the car contributes to vibration or harshness.

Insurance is usually less for sedans than coupes.
Some high performance cars have 4 doors to circumvent/attenuate the actuary's tables.

Coupe for me. I'm 6'1" 240lbs. I drive with my seat all the way back. The longer doors on my Civic coupe are WAY easier to get in and out of than my mom's Camry. Also, I have hauled many 8' long pieces of lumber in my car with the back seat folded down.

Not if you can only open them partially because there is a car parked right next to you.

Coupe. I love the fact that I don't have a 'people' hauler. Usually, when 'people' see my coupe and the hassle they have to go through to go in and out, they usually opt out.

Yes, I'm selfish and love it.
