I would not be surprised if Hankook bought the Roadhandler name on the open market then approached sears with a bargain.

Or maybe it's "rent to own" and hankook gets keepsies if Sears goes tango uniform. Lots of ways this could spin.

I can't imagine going back to the "good old days" at sears auto except maybe over die hard batteries.

Thank's for verifying Michelin made the Road Handler brand back in the day like i mentioned

Indeed you guys are right. I must have been thinking of a different tire.

Or... Sears shopped the potential remaining consumer recognition in the Roadhandler name to the tire manufacturers, and Hankook was either the only one interested, or the one who showed the most interest.

The biggest problem is, the Roadhandler name doesn't mean a whole lot to anyone younger than 40, unless they actually purchased tires at Sears on a regular basis.

My first car had two Michelin made Roadhandler tires on it when I bought it. It was the model with the interlocking S shaped tread blocks.

Heck, I can remember when JCPenney had Auto Centers and sold tires...

They don't even have them in my size anyways....

I don't think you'll get 100k out of them anyways...

For the case of my Cobalt, the RH is almost 110 bucks, while general tires (HP and RT) are like 30 bucks cheaper...

Had 80K warranty Roadhandler tires on my 1984 Impala; 118K later I sold the car.

People rave about Kuhmo, great tires if you want to shell out $450 every 30K miles.

Yes sir you are right. At present, summer tire is KUMHO APT51, 215/70/16, a good three season and poor winter tire, lasted 35,000 miles and down to 3/32". The original was a set of BRIDGESTONE they lasted 36,000 miles and it's replacement where MICHELIN that lasted 35,000 miles and that was using the new unused BRIDGESTONE spare in a rotation.

Have a set of FIRESTONE LE2 to mount.
