sealing granite

Ive seen some nice granite and some that the cutters didnt rally think about how to match.

I think we may go with the silestone or equivalent quartz when we re-do our kitchen. I like the lok of some of those options. Otherwise we will go Granite. I hear that the quartz doesnt ever need to be sealed and resists staining better... Not sure if it is true or not though...

The quartz was our other option but we liked the look of the granite better. for the bathroom the granite was the same the same price as quartz so we went with it in in addition to the kitchen. the granite we ended up with was real nice without any booger marks. the edge that was put on it really adds to it.

even with sealant, granite is not an fda approved food prep surface for sanitary reasons. as for radon, studies within the last couple of years indicate it can be a serious amount.
