preferred chain lube for sealed motorcycle chain?

I have used several in the past...cheap stuff from cycle gear, white stuff from bel-ray, and some sort of chain wax; if I get myself a mini moto I will be doing chain maintenance;

I'm open to suggestion...thanks

Maxima or the PJ1 chain WAX..
Start with a fairly clean chain and ride the bike to get the chain warm. At the end of the ride spray the chain then let it sit overnight to soak in and dry.

You are good to go after that. Anyhting other than wax will make a mess and fling off. As a side note we used to laugh like idiots at the old PJ1 chain lube back in the day that used 'sperm whale oil'. LOLOL.

I use Liquid Wrench Chain and Cable Lube. It's available at Walmart and other hardware stores for around $6 a can.

I lube the chain in the evening. Put cardboard under the chain and spray on liberally while rotating the tire by hand. The carrier solvent dissolves the previous coating and drips off, taking the dirt with it. By morning, the carrier solvent is all dried and leaves a protective coating on the chain. I haven't had to manually clean my chain since I starting using this. I've been a satisfied user since 2018.

For on-road riding (commuting to work), I'll lube the chain about every other tank of gas (about 400-500 miles). When I'm traveling on a long motorcycle trip, I'll lube every evening when we stop for the day as part of my normal bike look-over and maintenance routine.

Anything that will keep the rust away, that's pretty much the purpose of chain lubes. So use whatever you like best.

I personally prefer gear oil, applied by a brush and then followed by a quick wipe with a rag. There is very minimal sling and more importantly to me, it cleans up with a rag. No harsh chemicals or cleaners needed. If it's really caked on some wd40 will melt it right off.

This is the reason I dislike chain wax products. They are 100% designed to also sell you another can of their cleaning product.

After years of battle, I finally settled on a combo of two products. A high zinc based dry lube such as BelRay and good 'ol CorrosionX (as it is a fantastic lubricant, and much less likely to attract dirt). I spray the dry lube on first, then the CX. The mix is the longest lasting lube I've ever used, and this combo is really good at not attracting dirt for bicycle chains too.

Modern sealed X-ring chains only need lubrication on the outside; for the outside of the rollers and sprockets. No outside lube can penetrate inside. Given this, I've been using a chain wax type product, because it doesn't hold grit as readily as sticky oil based lubes. I'm not sure how much difference it makes, but it's easier to clean too, so why not?

I tried a bunch of different lubes on my Ninja 650, the best results were with Maxima chain wax. Clean the chain, spray it, and let it sit overnight. Very little sling. Used it on my garage door opener until I switched over to a belt drive.

gear lube. Same reason KrisZ said. I really only need rust inhibitors and a thin film. I kept a gallon jug of mixed used atf and used gear oil--which a gallon was a crazy amount in hindsight. I only ever needed probably 2oz at a time. Relubed every 1000 miles with a clean spam can and cheapo brush I keep with the jug. Never had to pre-clean; just wiped excess after with a rag. Worked great and chains have lasted 10k-15k miles. Cons? stinky if you get too messy with it. But it is much tidier than wax around your sprockets.

after many years of trying all types, now: gear oil (or similar) followed by wurth dry lube after one ride

Another vote for Dupont chain lube. Get it at Walmart.
I spray right after a ride, every other tank of gas. Dries, stays clean, even under the front sprocket cover.
