So I was thinking of seafoaming my 26hp kohler courage. It has 235 hours and wanted to know from you BITOG fans if it would be okay to do this...

I've used Amsoil Power Foam on my courage sprayed thru the intake. Works great. If using in the gas that is fine too. I use Amsoil Quickshot 2-4 times a year to keep it clean

I've usually run a splash of seafoam or b-12 in with the gas before an oil change in my OPE.
I also use b12 as it's cheaper and it works just as good if not better than seafoam.
I prefer to add about 1.5 oz of seafoam per gallon of gas for my small engines. Seafoam does a good job of keeping the small carb jets clean and trouble free. For added benefit, you can also take the aerosol seafoam and spray it into the intake once every few years to keep the intake end clean and lightly lubed.
Small engine carburators really need to stay clean and water free (fresh fuel) in order for the engine to run correctly. Gummed up carb jets and fuel with too much water content are the most common things I have seen to kill a small engine. YMMV

If you want to run it, I would just put some in the gas and run it that way. It will slowly clean over time. I occasionally used Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas on my Kohler Command 25hp Twin. I maybe did 5 tank fulls with the MMO added to the fuel.
At around 400 hours, one of the head gaskets went, which is a fairly common problem on this engine. I did both sides, and everything looked spotless. I was pretty impressed with how clean the engine was. That same engine is now getting close to 600 hours and runs great. I would add some to the gas tank if you want but otherwise I wouldn't bother.

b-12 or some techron in the fuel. More and more i am liking techron over even b-12. To me seafoam is just expensive solvent and oil mixed to gether. If you are going too use seafoam you might as well use a touch of b-12 in mmo.

Is techron even forumlated for use in carburators? I thought it was primarily designed for modern fuel injectors and sensitive fuel system sensors? That is certainly the way techron's product literature makes it sound anyway. I was under the impression techron would be of no benefit to a carburated small engine like a lawnmower or snowblower.

It cleans where the fuel goes and burns. the fuel does not know whether its metered by a carburetor or a fuel injector.

Over the last 7 years-->I have been adding 2oz of TC-W3 rated Pennzoil Marine 2 stroke oil in my 5-Gallon plastic fuel jug.
I have 2 of these 5 gallon jugs that I fill up at the start of spring. Usually lasts half way through the summer months!
I actually removed the a 2 spark plugs from my old lawnmower-Generac Generator. The plugs I pulled were maybe 3 years old. Both were very clean very little soot or carbon. Had a slightly blue tint to them.
Does this mean TC-W3 2-stroke oil is a good additive? I don't know. I figure if there is very little carbon build up and soot on the plug-->There is very little on the valves. I have never had 1 carb issue.
I do every once in a while I will split a bottle of 20oz techron between the 2 5-Gallon fuel Jugs.
I will be adding this same fuel to the new roto-tiller.
Do I recommend this? NO! Just sharing my experiences.
