seafoam in engine oil

i havy an older chevy astro
it has a 4.3l vortec with somewhere over 250k on the clock
i have the problem with a lifter that likes to tick from time to time
i have used seafoam in the past but never in the oil
i have 400-500 miles left on the oci i was gonna put half a bottle in the oil half in the fuel and a shot or two through the pvc tube
would there be any problems with that?

I would try MMO before seafoam to cure this issue

With the milage on the engine and coming to the end of the OCI I would not run something as thin as seafaom in your oil. MMO is well proven to fix or help fix the issue you have

Id try either MMO or Rislone. I used MMO in our 3.1 GM v6 and it cured most of it. A full OCI with a dose of Rislone finished it off.

I stopped at the local mom and pop auto parts place to get some MMO, they only had Seafoam. To give them a little business, I bought the Seafoam and mixed it at the 1.5 oz. per quart in my 1996 Saturn. I've got Valvoline 5w30 in there and the mixture looks pretty thin, I plan on changing the oil in April. The oil is darkening up fast with the Seafoam in it.

It sounds like the Seafoam is working for you, let us know how the oil looks when you change it in April.

I'm a big fan of sea foam. I used to have a 99 Rodeo that burned some oil when I picked it up in ~2004. After having it a few months I found this site and others and got into leaning about the vehicle. Ran SF in the oil for a few changes, cleaned the EGR and PCV as well did some other maintenance type stuff and the oil burning issue wasn't an issue any more. Pretty sure I didn't ever have to add oil in between changes. Highway driving oil burning was a major improvement.
