Seafoam Help !!!

My advice for both of you would be to do some more archival reading through the additive forum to check out peoples' experiences with additives before you make blanket statements. Auto-rx has cleaned up quite a few engines, including mine....

Hey, whatever. No need for attitude. I'm not asking you to use the stuff. But it's silly and pointless to fire off posts about the stuff without knowing anything about it. This site is about sharing information and seeing what works, not blindly bashing what you don't understand. Feel free to look up arx posts under my old user name, bkrell. I doubted the stuff seriously until I used it. It wasn't magical but it worked MUCH better than anything I tried before or since. It's chemistry is quite proven.

Experience is the best degree and I have the experience.. Now, this is for my vehicles I have now. It does not reflect what you like to use.. No attitude or blind bashing has happened ! Sharing my experiences and information is what I did.

Of course. But it's not a question of liking anything in particular. Honestly, I didn't want to buy arx when I did. But I was in a pickle and nothing seemed to be working as far as de-gunking my sludged up engine. I can vouch for arx as can many folks on here. Nobody who's been here any length of time and read up would be silly enough to just toss in needless additives willy nilly (I hope). But when something helps and is proven by many folks on here, I feel comfortable using it if I need it.

Put Seafoam in my 97 Avalon (143K) last night. I was expecting the engine to choke down while adding it (through the brake line vacuum hose) but instead it revved up higher.
Let it sit for 5 minutes and then started it. Some white smoke out of the tailpipe but not the "cloud" that I was expecting....
