Would running a dose of Seafoam through off analysis results? Specifics: The car is a '95 Accord with V-TEC, 123,700 miles. I think it's pretty clean, but I don't really know. It's currently running M1 T&S 5W-40, and has 1300 miles left on this OCI. I'm planning on draining the oil after that, and sending a sample to Blackstone. This will be the first analysis I've done, do you think the results will be skewed by putting Seafoam through it?

Since Seafoam is actually a solvent and has hydrocarbons in it, I would think that it might show up in your fuel percentages. I'm pretty sure by looking at the MSDS, that there aren't any wear metals in the can that would throw your analysis off.
But do you think that it could dislodge something that would show up looking like increased wear?
I was thinking you were going to run it through the intake system. Sounds like your going to add it to the engine. I've seen good results from Seafoam in the intakes, but don't know much about putting it in the engine. I personally wouldn't do it. Introducing a solvent into the crankcase is not a good idea in my book. If you've changed the oil on a regular basis, I would have no reason to think the engine itself would need it. But yes, in this case, results would show an increase in probaly Fe, Cu, Pb and Al. It will also show higher fuel dilution and probably a thinner oil cSt.
Thanks for the input. I followed instructions I found somewhere on BITOG, put half in through the PCV valve, and the other half in the oil fill hole. Then I took it for an hour long drive. The engine does seem to run a little smoother.
