I noticed one of the alloy wheel's on my wife's Rav4 has a deep scratch in it, on an otherwise perfect wheel. What is the best way to repair this? I see several kits are available, but not sure which are worthwhile. Any recommendations on the best DIY repair?

Is the wheel clear coated? From what I gave heard, IF the scratch can't be felt by running your fingernail over it, it *might* be able to be polished out, just like you polish your paint. Maybe you could take some (paint) polish and polish it by hand? If not, I would guess any competent body shop could do that?

Can you post a good picture(s) of the wheel and scratch?

Unfortunately, the scratch is deep, through the finish to the metal. There is no way it could be polished out. I am not happy, because the rims were mint until this point. I believe the wheels are clear coated. I will have to clean the wheel a bit before I snap a picture, but will try to get one and post it once the weather clears up.

I am not looking for a show car finish as this is just a daily driver, but I'd like to mostly hide the scratch.

Here is a photo of the damage. I would prefer to repair this before I replace the wheel. Like I said, lots of kits available, but don't know which are worthwhile.

There are mobile businesses that fix curb rash and other things like this. This is a minimal repair. I’d see if you have one around.

Unfortunately, there is no business anywhere near me.

Any suggestions on wheel repair kits are appreciated.
