I asked the sales guy if the price was correct and he said "yes, but don't but it because it blew up his Duramax. Because the injectors are controlled by oil pressure, it detonated three pistons."

Nope, sold out of the 'dollar quarts'. Just a massive clearance, I bought all of teh Nexgen Maxlife they had. There is still some 5W-30 straight Nexgen on the shelf.

Yea good score. I scored 27 quarts at an Autozone near me Friday for $1 a quart. I asked the man and he said it did not sell at his store and that the company wants to match their oil rack to what people buy in the area.
He went on to say that even stores within the same city sell different amounts of different oils and they close out what does not sell in their store. I thought they would simply shift it from one store to another but he said they put it on clearance and sell it. 27 quarts for 27 bucks.

Too bad we don't have an autozone closer than 20 minutes out of the way here. I have a feeling if I call to ask about it the employees would buy it all themselves if they don't already know about it.
Walmart put the quart bottles of that on clearance for 4.50 a quart... Hopefully they don't fool anyone into thinking that's a clearance price.

Why would you use NG gasoline oil in a Duramax? And the injectors are NOT controlled by oil pressure! Typical clueless AZ employees.

Not sure if it is true, but a sales person at my local Autozone said the reason for the sales on oil, is they are clearing out old stock, getting ready for Dexos labeled oil.
I picked up 3, 5 quart jugs of Castrol GTX for $5 each. My son, who works at an Autozone in Kentucky said they cleared out Penzoil Ultra at $1/qt. Sure would be nice to get a piece of that action.

How much did you pay for it op? All I see is the pic of the jugs in the pickup.
i had a guy i hired that was ase certified and i checked it and he was. He knew nothing at all about rebuilding engines,nothing!

I see the pic now, but it wouldn't load on my mobile earlier. $1 per quart pretty sweet for maxlife, and the Nextgen is a step up over regular maxlife IMO.
