Hi. I need a opinion about these motor oils.I was looking for schaeffers 10w30 full synthetic but they have only 10w30 supreme 7000 semi-synth. full synthetic is available only 5w30 9000 series. I have honda civic with 236k on odometer. On my next oil change shoul'd I switch to 5w30 or stay with 10w30? And what Is the difference between these two oils? Thanks...

Talking specifically about the two oils, the 9000 series 5w30 is heavier at operating temp's (HTHS vis 3.2cP) than the 10w30 7000 series (HTHS vis 3.06cP).
That's not usually the case with most motor oils but it is here.
But a 5w30 (HTHS vis 3.1cP) does come in the 7000 series and if you can get it that's what I'd reccommend because it is lighter on start-up while retaining the same viscosity as the 10w30 at normal operating temp's.

Today the 5w30 grade is very stable pretty much rendering the 10w30 grade obsolete, particularly with semi-syn and Full Synthetic oils.

BTW, welcome to BITOG!
