Let me start out by saying Hi! I'm new to the site but have heard good things about it.
I'm doing my second oil change on my truck and am going to give Schaeffers oil a shot. My local dealer only had the new Supreme 7000 CJ-4 in stock, so thats what I'm putting in this go around, along with some Lube Control LC-20. I was previously using Rotella 15w40 CJ-4. I havn't heard much good about the new CJ stuff, but it'll have to do this time.
Next time, I'd like to go with a CI-4 or CI-4+ oil if possible. I looked at Schaeffers 3 different diesel oils on their site, and I know the Moly Bond x-200 is CI-4, but I'm a little confused on the Supreme 7000 and 9000. Their descriptions of the 2 say its CI-4+, but when you look up their technical specs, it says they are both CJ-4. Which is it? I'd really like to stick with the 7000 if I can get it in CI-4+.
Also, are Schaeffer's CJ-4 oils performing better compared to the major oil companies?
I'm planning to change my oil at 5,000miles which is coming up soon and I wanna do an oil sample just to see how well the Rotella was holding up and see if I can extend my oil change interval at all. I think the Schaeffers should help with that. Sorry for the long winded post
