When we all got the news of the shooting I thought it was odd that the media instantly broadcast
how he would have a full recovery and things were minor. Yeah not if you are him.

I thought he was reported as being in critical condition after more than 100 shots fired?

There are 4 other people got injured.
The movie like any other liberal media shows the one that dive into the dug to show that there is really no shooting.
I saw FN with Rep Scalise on a stretcher with tubes coming out of his body.
Apparently, it hits a big artery around his hip at least that is the way I understood it.

Need to digest the news as is and there are a lot of so called media wants to show whatever they want and not the real news.
Get your source from different sources.

I know, BITOG probably going to do something with this statement and put me in the cat house.

I could be that medical evaluations are done in a cursory fashion @ a scene and then more in depth analysis can be done by more trained and after the shooting crisis is over; nope no chance of that; it is all a big conspiracy. Sheesh.

If one consumes on the scene news and take it as gospel well you might want to think about how you consume news.

I hope he recovers fully; the media always seem to underreport actual injuries for public figures.

If this one gets locked it's shame. Not politics, not religion, nor any of the other banned censored topics. It's a post with concern for a person that was injured by a crazy person in a shooting.

Any bullet wound is serious. They downplayed it.
To those who want to tell us that we better adjust the way we get the news- thanks like in this world
we only have on TV channel- nice.

I happened to catch it just after it went down. It was sold as no big ordeal by all outlets. If you checked in much later things changed at some networks, not all.

Supposedly it was an SKS which isn't considered an "assault rifle" unless you really stretch the definition.

goes to show how fake and 1 sided the news is.

What the Media calls an "Assault Rifle" is comical. "AR stands for Armalite Rifle", which came out in early 50's...lol

I think it's exactly what you said - the scene news. He was apparently coherent for an extended period after the incident. That he might have been in actual critical condition, and was after the surgery, shouldn't surprise anyone. He obviously didn't just get a shoulder graze.

Probably shows that news reporters aren't experts in weaponry or in producing exact medical diagnosis, which appears to be the standards to which they are held.

Your comments seem to be reflexive in nature

We in the USA need to find a way to disagree agreeably. The extreme partisan politics we have seen for the last forty years is destroying this nation. Find a way to disagree without killing each other.

Absolutely agree. Never thought our society would be this (help me out here, what word am I looking for?) pathetic? I have seen things on the news that are an absolute disgrace to our great nation. What I find especially bothersome is the fact that things are not likely to get better anytime soon.

Too bad it's not just generational - blame the professors etc - some of the worst hacks are old. Conversely - one of the best law professors (a well known older liberal gentleman) seems disgusted by what the media is attempting to do - all while they bring on these so called "legal analysts" who are just paid to spin nonsense ...

I used to work with Steve Scalise, back in 1995-96. He was a programmer at the same IT shop where I first worked after getting my degree. I didn't know him well; he seemed like a good enough guy -- he was starting his political career then, and the IT work was his day job. Part of what I handled was changes to the code he'd written in good old FoxPro 2.5.

The news always knows peculiar things way too early. It's 'building 7' et al all over again. Very glad to see people still thinking in this day.
