i wonder how they compare to filtration....i looked at t heir site, u can make a custom filter...pretty neat, and there is a dealer up my alley
 
Having purchased a couple powerstack filters from SB in the past, I can 100% say they filter better than K&N. You literally can not see any holes, even tiny pinholes, through their media, even after multiple washings. The rubber they use and the wire mesh seems to be much stronger as well.
 
really...can you post a picture of it...even looking through the filter in light...you see no gaps? thats really interesting....since you used it...do you see any oily stuff in the intake system?

i wonder if its a performance improver..or just a reusable filter.
 
I don't currently have one on hand, but I can assure you that they are the best built cotton gauze filter I've ever seen. The media is very thick and the pleats are deeper and there is more of them.
 
do you have a drop in filter, or a cone?

now im interested, im getting rid of my baldwin i think its defective. how much do they run? if u were to blow air through it, would u feel it on the other side just like a normal k & n or would it be kinda restrictive like paper?

i just want to get an idea of how good the filtration is. i might head to the shop that has it in a bit
 
dead end, i went there and guess wut, there is no store by that name at all....i circled the block 6 times and no luck =/

The filters I have used from them have been S&B powerstack cone filters; I'm sure the drop-in ones are superb as well. One good thing about them is they use top quality polyurathane for the rubber seals, and it does not bleed out onto the media like K&N's do, so it leaves more actual media to allow more airflow and more filtration potential.

Try emailing these guys. They move SB filters like crazy, so if you gave them the SB part number for the drop in filter of your application, I'm sure they could order you one straight from SB. In fact, I think I'm going to do the same.
 
I have a 9 inch S&B filter on the intake that I built on my Ram. The only complaint that I ever get, from passengers, is that the filter is loud. These filters are much louder than K&N filters due to the front opening.

Here is a picture of my intake with the S&B filter:

SSLube, you can confirm though that they are built way better than K&N, right? More media, lots more media, more pleats, better rubber seal etc.

you live in california, where...im from there to in the sacramento area near robnitro =).

can u take a close up of the filter?

my friend has a filter but its a weird name, i looked at it and can tell its very good...its a cone size just like yours and really is built tough. if i look through it i see no holes, looks near a normal paper filter but still washable.
 
I have a K&N cone filter on my Dakota and it is not as sturdy as the larger S&B. The K&N is flimsy and compresses slightly when you hold it. The S&B is better built in my opinion.

Again as I posted in another post that I'm running one of these S&B air filters on my GTP. It's a 7" cone inclosed to keep the heat down and direct more cooler air into it. I'm very happy

with it as it really is made ALOT better than a K&N.
