I'm looking at this monitor/tv to replace my 19" crt. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SyncMaster-2333HD-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B00213QXFA . I'm not really researched in electronics so I was hoping to see what some of the gurus here think of the specs. I have a Xbox and the picture sucks through the crt. This is for my bedroom and the price is right so the size looks good enough. It says's it's a monitor with a tv tuner but it seems most people reviewing it are using it for a tv. Not too concerned about it not having component inputs since I'm just after the hdmi and it has something for the cable. TIA.

I have an older 22" version of this Samsung (T220HD), and it is an excellent monitor - vibrant colors and crisp display; however, I use the DVI connection to my video card. But I would assume HDMI should be equally good.

But I don't do any gaming on this PC. Not sure if the 5ms response time is quick enough for gaming... it should be OK though.

And I hope you have a separate audio system as the built in speakers aren't too good, but that goes for pretty much all built-in speakers on LCD monitors/TVs.

DVI = HDMI without sound.

23" is about the minimum I would buy. My 20" monitor "feels" smaller than a 19" tv when you watch things on it, due to the widescreen.

I have a Samsung TV, and I like them, they do well in Consumer Reports.

Looked at some reviews and it looks like it will meet my needs. Pulled the trigger and got it from buy.com for $225 w/ 2nd day shipping and 4-7% Bing CB. Now my sister can have my old one for her dorm.
