I like clear dipsticks for as long as possible. The only two things that bugs me about 5w30 Citgo dino is premature black dipsticks and premature watery oil. I'm used to 1.5K with many oil brands - before seeing the black or real drippy oil. With Citgo, it gets black & drippy in 700 miles.
Those are irrlelevant issues for some. It doesn't pay for me to get a wear UOA on it - just because I don't like what I see & discontinued purchasing it.
I realize the color means nothing & the thin viscosity has it's benefits. It's just more of a mental flag-raising with me. If the dino oil is not like the majority - plus it's on the cheap-side at the register - then I'll pass.
