I have the Amsoil sample pump and am planning on taking a sample of my ATF today. Do I really need to use a new hose each time? The hose was last used for a sample of ATF. I was thinking of either finding a spare bottle to pump in an ounce or so to clear the line, or pushing a baggie into the sample bottle and pump in an ounce or so, remove the baggie and fill the sample bottle.
Seems to me that even with new hose one should pump an ounce or so out before taking the sample to make sure the hose did not catch some crud while pushing the hose down the dipstick tube.
In this case the ATF will not be changed.
