S2000 PCX filter, good choice?

I have always used the Honda 15400-PCX-004 filter on my 2003 S2000, due largely to opinions on S2KI. High flow and metal on metal seating have always been mentioned as key characteristics. I was so impressed with the NAPA Gold I just pulled off my 92 Accord that is got me wondering if it would be a better option. The Gold was very sturdy and the ADV particularly effective. I would keep using the PCX-004 on the S2000, simply because it is a high revving engine, and the filter will have the proper flow rates and bypass settings. IIRC that the S2000 is the only Honda product that specs that filter. My conclusion would be that it is made just for that car, even though it works on other Honda products. Made by Filtech the USA arm of Toyo Roki. It is a quality product.

I continue to use the PCX-004 on my AP2 S2000. It's the only filter I've used, probably for the same reasons as Hermann illustrates above. But I also have used oil analysis that show it to filter insolubles pretty well, and hopefully is actually providing the consistent flow and oil pressure necessary for the engine to work properly.

Will changing to a different filter like the NAPA Gold cause catstrophic results? Absolutely not. Give it a try and report back soon!

I bought a six pack of filters (PCX-004) and crush washers from handa-accessories.com for $56.63 shipped. It's quite a bit cheaper than the local Honda dealer.
