S10 Blower Motor Problem

The heater blower in my 99 S10 has stopped working completely. I checked the fuses, both in the passenger compartment and under the hood, and they are fine. I took off part of the dash and disconnected the wiring harness from the switch that controls the blower to be sure the switch was okay. When I hot wire the switch on any speed all I hear is a "click" and the blower doesn't move at all. The blower system has a resistor and a relay. Can anyone tell me which part needs to be replaced here? Thanks in advance.

turn on the fan and turn the key on to the truck, disconnect the power plug to the fan and check for 12vdc at the connector, if you have 12vdc your fan is bad, if you dont you will need to check inside for the relay or resistor problem.

Normally if its the resistor, the fan only runs on high speed.

Those resistor packs and their connectors often fry.
That would be my first area of concern.
Try hot wiring right to the fan motor from the battery to see if it works.

Note that a bad fan motor will puke the resistor by not having airflow on it - it will overheat and fry. You may now have TWO problems!

These trucks have an electrical plug with 4 or so wires that burns up and opens the connection. The connector is near the reciever drier, stuffed into a hole between the dryer and fender.

Turns out it was the blower motor-I disconnected the wiring and plugged it into a new motor and sure enough it started spinning. It was kind of a pain in the butt to get out, but I got it fixed. Thanks guys for the help.
