So I received an email from S-K letting me know they had deals to help be outfit my toolbox. I checked to see what they had to offer since I have some S-K already. I was surprised to see the "Deal" they were offering was a (23) piece metric chrome combination wrench set for only $963.00! The worst part is the description says, "Made in China". I'm not sure what is going on with some of these tools companies, but they are out of their mind if they think people are stupid enough to pay $963.00 for a China wrench set. A (27) piece set from Tekton is $219 and at least it's made in Taiwan. S-K must be using the same marketing company as NAPA for their Carlyle line.

Interesting. I haven’t had to buy anything SK in years, minus a set of 3/8 impact sockets and a pick set. Everything in my box is pretty much SK and made in the USA. Of course my tools are years if not decades old. Sad state of affairs that a company that made just about everything in the US now makes next to nothing here. My grandad is spinning in his grave.

I love my sk tools. Crazy to see such prices for Chinese war machine produced stuff. But I also wonder if you’re being taken advantage of by your retailer. I just found the sk 23 pc set on amazon for $209!

IIRC while closing out and/or restructuring US manufacturing most of the SK stock was wholesale'd off (Ebay was flooded with it). I am thrilled with the NOS SK stuff I have, but moving forward it's mostly Tekton (Especially since they have great individual tool prices) and maybe some Williams

I think they are trying to fool folks with the big shiny S, making you think its the other S brand.

Yeah the good old days getting a complete huge set at sears for that same amount. Just too bad that sears and sk didn't know how to keep the chrome on the sockets.
