so on my wife's truck I've been using Cosmoline RP342 for a number of years now and its working OK. Not perfect but pretty good, fluid film every year has been more effective on my 2011 but also a lot messier.

Anyways, thinking I should be fogging side the frame rails, too. Is there a good bulk sprayer for the Cosmoline that works well inside the frame rails? Alternatively I was thinking about doing one last coat with Rp342 this year followed by FF inside the rails and then going with FF yearly moving forward.

i bought a sprayer from harbor freight and mixed up some used motor oil with cheap grease to be of a ketsup type consistancy , and touched up my truck in the past

You could use something like this undercoating gun, you really need an external air pressure source to push that snot through that tube.

If you're starting on a used frame, I'd run lots of compressed air through it, then water then more compressed air to dry it out first. Clean it out.

Woolwax has a kit you can buy that has a little flexible wand extension for getting into the frame. I've actually got one of these kits, just haven't used it yet. We'll see how well it works in the fall when I do the truck and Subie.

Honest question here, how much does it cost you for materials and how long does it take to apply? Wondering because I’m weighing the time, effort & materials cost vs. just paying Krown $119 every year that includes a warranty.

I have an inexpensive sprayer for undercoating, I got it on Amazon for less than $40 but its been glitchy and I have had to modify it a few times. There are good ones available for a little over $100 and my plan is to get one of those the next time my cheap one fails. All of these sprayers will have interchangeable wands, mine has one that has a tip with 4 holes evenly spaced at 90 degrees so it will fan out. Its perfect for void spaces like frames and rocker panels etc.

The aerosol 360 extension is messy. I’ve yet to find a can of FluidFilm it properly fits in. I still get plenty of material inside, it just coats my hand and builds up on top of the can.

This. I used the woolwax sprayer with Surface Shield. The sprayer worked flawlessly @ about 80PSI. Even though it is kind of pricey I think that it will last a very long time.

How thick is RP342?
