I pulled an older Hengst filter I had in stock, for my MB300cd. These filters have a full flow and a bypass section.
The bypass section flows from the inside-out through small louvered holes. Some of those holes had rust residue (raised rust) around them. I figure that can shed particles, and thus condemns the filter.
Any opinion on seeing rust on a filter? Would you use?
