Running GUMOUT improved idle dramatically!!!

Ive had similar results from just using Chevron gas instead of my constant 76 when my toyota was running sluggish and getting really poor mileage. I have always taken Techron pretty serious since lol.

I had stated recently that ive had no luck trying Techron in the Honda Fit to cure a stumble and generally rough running. Last week I was in walmart and browsed by the addive shelf and decided to try some GUMOUT BETTER FI cleaner. I recall this stuff does not have pea in it ( from reading here), but I was planning on filling up with some Sunoco near the store (though i usually run Mobil regular grade). Well, I dumped in one bottle on top of 7 gallons and after 2 days the engine's cylinder balance and smoothness improved dramatically and the engine regained enough torque to (accidentally) break the tires loose moving away from stops with 1/4 throtte. The engine hasnt responeded this well all winter and the big bottle of Techron I had run a month earlier did absolutely nothing. I was ready to pull plugs and check valve clearance for tight valves and clean the MAF to get the motor up to snuff again. This stuff worked for me this time so I'm sold on running a bottle of Gumout BETTER fuel injector cleaner the next time the mnotor gets sluggish.
I now change my position on NOT having luck with FI cleaners given the above experience. I dont think this was coincidence. Engine continue to run well after fueling up with my usual Mobil Clean fuel. Yipee!

Any specific reason why you picked up that particular variant of Gumout cleaner? As far as I know, this is NOT the recommended bottle. Only Gumout Regane Fuel System cleaners are recommended and they range in price between, $5.00, $5.50 and $7.00. How much was the FI cleaner that you picked up?

Personally, I have not used FI cleaners in a long time. I stick with FS cleaners which are lot more potent. But if you had a great success with the specific GUMOUT BETTER FI cleaner and if it is cheap, I am willing to try it.

Well ive used the "recommended" regain in the past with no improvement and I didnt want the high mileage. I like light paraffins as a lube/carrier (white kerosine) Maybe its just walmart that has the GOOD BETTER BEST appellation top of the label near the cap.

IIRC it was THIS bottle: Ill check again on Saturday

Ita running pretty dang good after the treatment. I was surprised as i'm not a proponent of mechanic in the can, but gas up here is abysmal. In the past engines ran somewhat better with the FI cleaner in the tank but went back to fair running after the tank was depleted - meaning they didnt really clean up anything they just modified the burn characteristics of the doped fuel. I hope i cant break this motor, as its ued in formula four race cars stock.
