Is there much of a difference? Going to change my transfer case fluid on my 2005 Nissan Xterra and was wondering if Royal Purple is decent stuff.

Thanks,
Mike

Decent? Yes.

Better than Mobil 1? Probably not (although probably not worse either).

Would you notice a difference? Unlikely.

If you did notice a difference, would that translate into longer life and better running in your diff? Highly unlikely.

It is excellent. As long as it is compatible with whatever fluid your mfg calls for it is an excellent choice.

NHHEMI, Just a quick question for you, where are you getting their ATF. I too am in NH and can't find any of their products except at Walmart, and even then all they have is engine oil. I'm in the southern part of the state.

Thanks,
Justin

I am in the southern part as well on the coast. I get my RP from a guy who used to run a speed shop and still can get things for me when I ask. He doesn't deal with retail folks anymore though. Just his long time customers, sorry.

However, there are some options for you. Any Napa should be able to get it for you if they don't have it in stock. Last I knew the Napa on 125 in Epping stocked it. I know Chris at the Seabrook Napa can get RP for you too. Unfortunately, RP at Napa is expensive. PepBoys has it too. I have seen it in their Portsmouth/Newington and Manchester stores. I think AAP does as well but not sure 100%?

A real good source is in Salisbury, MA. Coastal Customs( 978-465-1313 - ask for Chris ). They have pretty good pricing and are a couple of brothers( younger guys )doing a great job with their speed shop. You can also go to the RP web site and use the dealer locator which will show you a lot of options in NH.

Good luck.
