On my 2nd run of Royal Purple. Now I don't usually run this oil, but if you can pick up a case for $2.00 a bottle why not. On my first run I burnt 1 quart at the 3,000 mile mark, it seem to hold steady after that, went little over 6000 miles. Now on this 2nd run, I have burned 1 quart at 2500 miles. I'm not buying another high priced quart of this oil. I had 1 Black Bottle Castrol Syntec laying around and used that at top off. I have never burned this level of oil in my car. My car doesn't smoke, I had people rev the engine while I looked, seen nothing. Pipe is nice and gray, no leaks on my driveway cement. It safe to say. Next oil change will go back to and oil that I didn't experience oil loss. If I have no loss that tells me something, if I have loss, than I guess it's a engine issue. ( Chrysler 300, 3.5 Liter, 75,000 miles). If you just google Royal Purple there is endless post by people that say it shear, there is plenty of data that backs that up, this could be why I'm consuming more with this car, maybe gets a little to thin for this engine. I haven't seen horrible wear results because of it. My gut says stick with oil for duration of OCI but my heart is telling me get the stuff out.
P.S. I didn't spell the title of this post wrong. Uses THO instead of The..Biblical Satire.
