Rotella T6 Synthetic 5w-40

For Summer, I was thinking of running this oil in my 120,000 mile 4.7 V8 Dodge Dakota. Decent choice?

I run the rotella 5w-40 in my avalanche and ford escape. Does just fine, my escape has 122k on it

One of my buddies has the 4.7 in a dodge truck and he runs HDEO 15w40 in it year around here in NC. Im not saying this is smart or good or bad but he has done it for a long time and his truck is still running good. He does do mostly interstate driving though. He lives 30 miles from work almost all interstate so he is probably the best case for running a HDEO. He may not have had such good results if it was all short runs.

Its surprisingly has good reviews on this website. One of the cheaper synthetics as well.

RTS / T6 is probably the best synthetic you can buy for $4 to $5/quart.

I have only seen it in 15w40. I might try the 5w30 in my Acura next. Motul 300v is too pricey for my wifes DD. Only in my SE-R.

Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic 5W-40 should be fine for your application. Use with confidence !
