This is my first post, and I'd like to say hello to everyone. I've been browsing the forums for a few days now, and have a question. I drive a 2004.5 Dodge Ram with the CTD. I've been using Rotella and Fleetguard Filters. I dont see much information on here about Rotella. It seems Delo and Delvac are the preferred oils on this board.

Is Rotella a bad oil as far as dino is concerned. I'm open for suggestions as to why one would be better than another. All 3, Rotella, Delo and Delvac are pretty easy to get.

Thanks
John

there is nothing wrong with rotella. it is a fine oil. delo and delvac are also fine oils. some here seem to suggest that delo and delvac are a little bit better than rotella. i dont know which one is better and to be honest, they are all very good oils and any of them will serve you well. i would chose the one which is cheapest if i were you.

John,

Of the three conventional oils you mentioned, all three are excellent, and add to your list Pennzoil 15W40 and Valvoline. You will be happy with any of these, and if you are using Shell and it is readily available, no problem. We all have our favorites, but any CI+ rated oil will serve you well.
