Great post! The old girl made it through 62 bombing missions with the 63rd being her last. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to ride in one of these during a bombing mission.
Those pictures of Queen Elizabeth are great as well, especially the one of her sitting in the spitfire. She was a beautiful young lady and obviously a spunky senior as she was inquiring about some jerries to shoot down.

My dad's cousin and my dad's best friend were B17 gunners. Both were shot down and prisoners of war. They never spoke about it. This is not to be taken lightly.
